cali oranges

there are a few things that make me feel this way, the way people who retain their child-like excitement of discovery must feel. here is one of mine: a backyard orange tree pierced by the january californian sun. another is snows of the northern hemisphere in august. i am afraid if i had more things to be this giddy about i would end up … too unlike me. luckily, there are daily servings of lemons. there they are, oranges (alas, also citrus!) in an orange tree, and they ripe in the january sun!
